Figures 9-10 show the 3D rendering of the aortic valve as viewed from the aorta, and Figures 11-12 as viewed from the LV outflow tract. The larger antero-lateral and smaller postero0medial cusps are clearly seen. The oval stenotic orifice can also be appreciated. Although the opening of the 2 cusps is significantly restricted, the stenosis is not severe because the stenotic orifice of the bicuspid valve extends from commissure to commissure. As recommended by the Guidelines, the short axis of the base is oriented with the aortic valve on top of the image and the mitral valve at the bottom.
